“Fruit is always the miraculous, the created; it is never the result of willing, but always a growth. The fruit of the Spirit is a gift of God, and only He can produce it. They who bear it know as little about it as the tree knows of its fruit. They know only the power of Him on whom their life depends.”

Dietrich Bonhoeffer said that, and he rightly points to a truth that everything about the Christian life is an expression of growth.

All living things grow, but for the growing Believer (at every age) the bonus is living with more…a living Word, a Holy Spirit so real, so close, so intimate, that growth in righteousness is like breath itself, and belonging to a body of believers where growth is lived out loud, available, infectious, inspiring, and transforming.

GROWING INWARD

God doesn’t merely desire that we be ‘good.’ His measure is holiness. At GracePoint we live by growing our own personal roots deeply in the study of scripture as a commitment its pursuit.

GROWING UPWARD

Teaching children the whole counsel of God can breed adults who will come to rely on Him as they stretch and grow into adulthood, and into families of their own. We seek to grow children who will come to see the compelling purpose of God that lies behind everything they encounter in life.

GROWING OUTWARD

The apostle Paul said it best, “For we are a fragrance of Christ to God among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing.” Christ placed such a high value on the human soul that He exchanged the perfection of heaven for a life of suffering to seek and save the lost. Thus, we are not content with an insular faith, but seek to follow Christ everywhere, even outside the church walls, to share Him with others.
